Roma Maharishi is one of the greatest sages. His name comes from the word "Romam" in Tamil which means hair. It is believed that Roma maharishi has three and half Crore hairs and the fall of one hair signals the end of one brahma. Maharishi has authored Pancha Pakshi Sastram.

In our endeavour to seek this great rishi's blessings, we set out in search of temples and cities which had Roma Maharishi's statue or temples with any connections to Roma Maharishi. We did manage to find a handful of temples in Tamilnadu and Andhra Pradesh where we could get a darshan and blessings of this great sage. We wish to share this experience with other like minded persons who could be searching for this great sage as we initially set out to do.
Some of the temples where Roma Maharishi is present has already been documented by other spiritual seekers. One such forum which helped us start our search is Raju's Temple Visits. This blog has in great detail laid out the place near Chennai where we first began this sojourn.

வடிவுடையம்மன் கோவில் தரிசனம் பெற நமக்கு ஒரு நாள் தேவை. அந்த அளவிற்கு நாம் தரிசனம் செய்ய வேண்டும்.இங்கே 2 ன் சிறப்பு உள்ளது. இறைவன்,இறைவி,தல மரம்,தீர்த்தம் என இரண்டு இரண்டாய் உண்டு. எல்லாம் இரண்டு: திருவொற்றியூர் தலத்தில் மூலவர் ஆதிபுரீஸ்வரர், ஒற்றீஸ்வரர் என இரண்டு மூர்த்திகள் பிரதானம் பெற்றிருக்கின்றனர். தவிர, வடிவுடையாம்பிகை, வட்டப்பாறையம்மன், அத்தி, மகிழம் என இரண்டு தலவிருட்சம், பிரம்ம தீர்த்தம், அத்தி தீர்த்தம் என இரண்டு தீர்த்தங்கள், காரணம், காமீகம் என இரண்டு ஆகம பூஜை என்று இத்தலத்தில் இரண்டு என்ற எண்ணிக்கை பிரதானம் பெற்றிருக்கிறது. இந்த தலத்தில் தியாகராஜர் என்ற பெயரில் நடராஜர் அமர்ந்த நிலையில் நடனமாடுவது சிறப்பம்சமாகும். இங்குள்ள ஈசன் மாணிக்க தியாகர் என்று அழைக்கப்படுகின்றார். 27 நட்சத்திர லிங்கங்கள் இங்கே காணலாம். திரிபுர சுந்தரியான அம்பாளைப் போற்றி ஸ்ரீவடிவுடை மாணிக்கமாலை என்ற போற்றிப்பாடல்களை இயற்றிய பிறகு வடிவுடை அம்மன் என்று அழைக்கப்படுகிறார்.
